Former US president Donald Trump set to give ‘no holds barred’ commentary on Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort fight on September 11 in Florida

Donald Trump will host and commentate on Saturday’s heavyweight boxing clash between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort.

The fight was due to be between former UFC champion Belfort and Oscar De La Hoya, before the latter was hospitalised with coronavirus.

The clash between the veterans, with Holyfield 58 and Belfort 44, will take place at The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida, with 7,000 in attendance.

It is available for fans to buy on TV for an eye-watering $49.95, while it is available for £9.99 in the UK.

Former president Trump was announced last night as being involved in hosting and commentary duties.

“I love great fighters and great fights,” Trump said.

“I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event.”

Promoters of the fight, Fite.tv, said he will be live in person and it will be ‘no holds barred’.

Donald Trump Jr will also present the fight on Saturday, which also falls on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The fight card will also feature UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz facing former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in the co-main event.

Trump previously styled himself as a business adviser to Mike Tyson and promoted a handful of fights in the late 1980s and early 90s.
